2000 Topps Limited Set

Almost a decade later, Topps relaunched the high-end "Tiffany" concept with a "Limited Edition" factory set. Each set contained 619 cards.  Topps intentionally left out card #7 as a way of paying tribute to Mickey Mantle.

The set box design featured a teal box, with the Topps "Home Team Advantage" logo and sealed with Topps logo shrink wrap.  Inside the teal box is a specially made black leather box.  It is gold foil stamped with Topps Limited Edition and  xxxx/4000 serial number. 

The original print run was planned for 6000 sets, but actual production turned out to be only 4000 sets. 

The sets also only contained one of five different variations of the Magic Moments subset cards (236-240/475-479) per factory set.  Leaving only 800 copies of each variation.  

2000 Topps Limited -vs- Base Cards

The Limited cards are easily differentiated from the original base cards by being printed on thicker, 20pt card stock, high-gloss coating and the words "LIMITED EDITION" gold stamped on the front.
