Red squares show white from offset during printing on the 7. PWCC calls the offset "snow". 'Offset' occurs when the ink is applied too heavy during printing or it can be the result of not enough spray powder used during the sheets stacking together. It could also be caused by being handled when the ink is not completely dry. All of the black spots on the back that are not supposed to be there is a result of ink transfer from the paper just below that was front side up. That sheet will have the same amount of "snow" showing. The graders should have known that all of the ink transfer on the card back was caused by offset and that the card front should be all splotchy with "snow".
Note in the PWCC PSA-8.5 listing description: "The offered quality simply doesn't exist in the hobby and we'd be rather surprised if any of the 4 PSA 9s in the world hold eye appeal equal to this 8.5. A dead centered and perfectly printed specimen which sets the bar for what's possible from the issue."
