Prior Grade: PSA 4 (MK) cert# 25225047
Card: 1909 E95 Philadelphia Caramel, Christy Mathewson.
Alterations: Bleached, possibly damaged.
Yellow circles are the common print marks/flaws between both cards.
Blue boxes show the removal of a blue ink stain.
Here we have a very nice card that underwent an invasive chemical treatment, all to remove a trivial blue ink mark to the lower right border. Previously a PSA 4(MK), it received a half-point grade bump with no qualifier.
As you can see from the scan, the front and back are noticeably whiter. I am unable to discern if the white marks on the black border post-alteration are damaged areas or dust from the scanner bed. You be the judge.
Sold by Robert Edward Auctions (as a PSA 4(MK)) on May 1, 2016 for $1,080 to an unknown buyer.
Then sold by PWCC (as a PSA 4.5) on October 8, 2017 for $1,499.
