Prior Grade: PSA 2 cert# 26399154
Card: E95 Philadelphia Caramel, Honus Wagner.
Alterations: Bleached, damaged.
Yellow circles are the common print marks/flaws between both cards.
This obviously bleached card is the 600th altered card discovered so far.
Not quite as mangled as the D304 Cobb in the previous post, this Wagner has suffered severe loss of color tone and the black text on the back has been noticeably damaged by the chemicals. Despite this, the card received an inexplicable grade bump. The latest in a series of bizarre and reckless alterations.
Sold by Robert Edward Auctions (as a PSA 2) on October 30, 2016 for $1,560 to an unknown buyer.
Then sold by PWCC (as a PSA 2.5) on May 7, 2017 for $1,802.77.
Gain: $242.77
