Yellow circles are print, fiber, or chipping identifiers.
Red box identifies trimmed right edge. No back image provided with first sale data.
This card is a good example of the term that you will often hear "buy the card, not the grade". The card should have never received a grade of 10 due to two obvious printing flaws that are visible on the front (and the fact that it was trimmed). The lesser flaw is the "hickey" in the blue area of the Dodgers banner (circled in red below). The more egregious flaw is the red ink missing from the other circled area on the neck. The yellow ink is present, but due to debris on the printing blanket of the red unit the ink would not print onto the sheet in that spot. Another possible but less likely reason is a smash in the red blanket prevented the ink to transfer to the sheet.
The first buyer won the card from PWCC for an incredibly lower final price than all other sales have been (see sale record photo). Other bidders likely noticed that the card was overgraded. The same card sold three years later for a BIN price of $1,000.00. Someone really wanted that grade and dramatically overpaid.
BUY THE CARD - NOT THE GRADE.
