Years ago I bought this card trusting the @beckettcollect Certification. I had no reason to believe this was fake because a reputable card grading company certified that it was real. Fast forward to last year when I tried to sell this card via Alt. I received a message from Alt saying the buyer who won the auction knew based off how the serial number was printed that the card was fake and, to protect the hobby, won the auction and would not pay for it. I had Alt send me the card back so I could walk it in to have BGS take a look at it.
My visit to BGS in Dallas went like you’d expect. I showed them the card, the problematic video above, and pleaded with them to do something. Surprise surprise, their “head grader” after review says the card is real and there’s nothing they will do. I tell them, I’m not saying the CARD isn’t real, I’m saying the serial was stamped on the card afterwards as it doesn’t match authentic versions of the card. They say that I will have to prove to them that it’s fake with a letter from the card manufacturer (fleer skybox went bankrupt years ago). 🙄🙄🙄
I DMed @arenadesign_com to see if they could help, not expecting that they’d be able to. But no response.
Then I sent the card to PSA to confirm it was fake and as you can see from the photos it came back questionable authenticity.
