2019 • PSA 9 cert# 26236726 • BlowOut →
Sold on 12/19/2016 as a PSA 9 by eBay PWCC for $2,175.00
Consigned to PWCC and sold on 8/27/2017 as a PSA 10 for $10,955.00
Value gain of $8,780.00!
This PSA 9 had two very small white spots where print should have been. Gary Moser bought the card, cracked it out, and recolored those. This becomes quite evident especially in the third, detailed photo. The third photo was uncovered by a tipster from the Collectors Universe forums. This photo gives independent confirmation that PWCC's photo of the PSA 10 is accurate; there is recoloring there.
Green circles on the front show the two areas that have been recolored. Red circles on the back are paper fibers common to the card. It is risky to break open a $2,000 PSA 9 card in the hopes of improving it and finding a buyer. My question is: was there already a buyer for the altered card in mind?
