2020 • PSA 5 cert# 21313394 • BlowOut →
Sold on 7/22/2017 as a PSA 5 by eBay seller ekamens1967 to whitman111 (Gary Moser) for $138
Consigned to PWCC as a PSA 6 and sold on 10/15/2018 for $275
Value gain of $137
This card is case in point on why PSA needs to actually measure the cards people send them for grading. Here whitman111 purchased a PSA 5 Leaf Phil Rizzuto RC off eBay, cracked it out, and trimmed the right edge. He then submitted it to PSA, which missed the trim, awarding the card a PSA 6 grade. He then consigned the altered card to PWCC, which sold it in October 2018.
I would recommend avoiding any 1948 Leaf cards that do not look like they properly fit the PSA holder. They even had to use the mylar sleeve to keep this trimmed card in place!
The green circles are unique marks proving it is the same card. The pink circle is the paper fiber that proves the card has been trimmed.
